Community Based Services (CBS)

What are Community Based Services (CBS)?

Community Based Services (CBS) are supports designed to help children who have serious emotional or behavioral challenges. These challenges can make it hard for them to do well at school, get along with others, or manage their feelings.

What Does “Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED)” Mean?

When a child is diagnosed with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), it means they are facing mental health challenges that seriously affect how they feel, behave, or interact with others. This can make daily life very difficult, especially at school or with friends.

How CBS Helps:

  • Our team works closely with your child to understand their unique needs through a full evaluation.

  • We then create a plan to provide the right kind of support to help your child succeed at home, in school, and in the community.

  • Support is provided by caring professionals like case managers and assistants who guide and assist your child every step of the way.

  • Services can happen where your child feels most comfortable—at home, school, or in community settings.
