I am a SW Kansas girl growing up in the area. I received BS in University of New Mexico (UNM) and MA in Fort Hays State University (FHSU). I achieved licensure in 2011. I have worked in the family preservation field with families and children who have had to navigate challenging times. Currently, I enjoy working with individuals, couples, first responders, veterans, young and older adults, other’s that are seeking rapid recovery from Trauma and other mental health problems. I honed valuable skills with CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) AFCBT (Alternative Family CBT) and TFCBT training (Trauma Focused CBT-certified), as well as SFBT (Solution Focused Behavioral Therapy). I became licensed in 2020 as a LMAC to expand my professional abilities.

Amanda is a Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist who graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. She was born in Mexico, lived in New Mexico, Kansas, and Colorado before choosing to come back to Kansas in 2017 to pursue her passion for serving rural and underserved populations through individual services as well as community outreach. Before becoming a therapist in 2025, she previously worked at the Community Support Service office from 2021 to 2025 as a case manager for adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
She currently holds a position as the team lead for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, a program started through the Garden City Compass offices at the start of 2025. This team specializes in serving particularly high-risk individuals. She is also able to administer psychological assessments for a variety of needs and purposes. In her role as an outpatient therapist, Amanda takes pride in seeing individuals of all needs, identities, backgrounds, and circumstances. She holds a special interest in working with individuals experiencing varying degrees of psychosis, severe mood and personality disorders, and substance use disorders. She is well-versed in somatic-based interventions, prefers using a biopsychosocial approach, is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and is dedicated to advancing her training and clinical skillset to meet the unique needs of each individual.
